The ever adaptable gallery wall at home has always been a great way to create a theme, fill a space and display your own personality.
Often created to feature family photos and memories, putting together a gallery wall in your home can also be a great way to add interest to a space.
By featuring your favourite things like pictures, paintings or even plants, you can express yourself, as well as have a personal collection to enjoy.
One of the great things about a gallery wall featured in your home is that it can be changed and freshened up so easily. Swap out for a new addition and change the character of the space completely.
Here are some tips and ideas for your own gallery wall:
1. Instead of hanging, layer items along a shelf or two, giving yourself the option of moving them around and changing things with ease, as well as featuring other items like plants, a mirror or ceramics. Using different textures is always interesting to the eye.
2. Pick a colour scheme or common theme when picking your artwork, to give the wall some consistency.
3. Paint the wall itself in a contrasting colour to add some extra pop.
4. If you like a more uniformed look, try using the same sized or same style frames or lining items up in a neat grid.
5. Alternately you can mix it up, using different sizes and styles to create interest. This can work especially well in narrow or tight spaces.
