Collécte is a curated marketplace of new and pre-owned designer & vintage furniture, home accessories and art. By curated, we mean we are selective about the items that we accept into our marketplace. We specialise in designer and vintage pieces and screen the authenticity of each item.
We attract design-oriented buyers who appreciate and value your items. For this reason, we do not accept any replica furniture.
• Listing with Collecte is FREE.
• Listings are live for three months for private sellers and six months for professional sellers.
• Collecte manages all payment and shipping logistics for you, using a selection of transport services to ship your item/s.
Private sellers pay a commission rate of 20% of the sale price for any item they sell through Collécte. Designers and professional sellers pay a trade commission rate of 13.5% of the sale price for any item they sell through Collécte.
Listing is easy!
You will be guided through a simple three-step process for each item, in which you will be prompted to provide item details (photos, title and description, asking price, measurements, and quantity). You will also have the opportunity to describe materials, history, and more. The more information you can provide to the buyer, the more likely you are to have a successful sale without a return!
1. Use a plain white backdrop (if possible) to make your item stand out (or a solid dark colour for white items).
2. Turn off the flash and use soft, diffused lighting to prevent shadows and reflections.
3. Minimise camera movement, set your camera against a solid object and keep your lens clean.
4. Take high-resolution photos so your item looks good on small and big screens.
5. Fill the frame with your item.
6. Photograph your item from all angles. Don’t hide wear and tear or defects (if you do, the item will more than likely be returned).
7. Validation/Authentication – Include photographs of all labels, tags and receipts (if possible).
8. Show the scale of your item.
9. Do not use filters when photographing. Capture the natural colours.
10. Include close-up shots to show patterns, trims, and general details.
11. Do not add props to photos or use borders or text.
12. Show complete sets.
13. Set camera/mobile to AWB (auto white balance).
14. Name files to reflect the subject matter.
15. No stock images to be used or photos from websites.
All sales are considered final after the 48-hour return period has passed or a local pickup has been completed.
Collécte receives payments from buyers at the time of sale to protect buyers and sellers and holds the proceeds until the item arrives safely in its new home.
Payment is issued via direct transfer into your nominated bank account and is generally processed within 48 hours after the return period has passed. You will receive an email confirming payment.
Collécte can arrange shipping for sellers. All shipping costs are paid by the buyer. Shipping is automatically calculated in the system for Victorian addresses only. If the buyer is located outside of Victoria, automatic shipping through the system is not available – this means buyers will have to select “local pick-up” when purchasing, and Collécte will organise a separate shipping quote for them.
If you are a professional seller, you are also able to select “arrange my own shipping” in the listing process.
Collécte accepts well-maintained, quality home furnishings, including vintage, new and gently used designer furniture, lighting, art, rugs and accessories. We ask that every piece submitted for sale meet the following criteria:
Designer brand or vintage age and style with established resale value
Excellent or good condition
We are unlikely to accept pieces that have severe stains, are visibly worn, or in need of major repairs and/or refinishing. However, if a piece is highly sought after, we may still consider it even if the condition is not optimal. Sometimes, a rare piece of furniture is appealing to buyers regardless of its condition. For those items that are iconic designs and/or from notable brands/designers, we are willing to accept pieces that need some help to restore their original condition.
Collécte cannot accept any replica furniture, mattresses, or nursery items.

We do NOT accept the following brands
If you do not successfully sell your item during the listing period, you can withdraw your item. We can also advise you on ways to improve your sales options; sometimes, it can be as simple as re-listing the item at a reduced price point.
Collécte will use its expertise and knowledge of the market to suggest a price that will help you move your item more quickly. If you need help with pricing your item, please enter 1 in the price field on the listing. We will be in contact to help you work out the selling price.
In the interest of selling your items, Collécte will hold regular sales and promotions. During these promotions, we may automatically reduce the displayed listing price; however, the pricing will remain within your approved pricing range. As a partner in the sale of your items, we monitor interest in your pieces and may recommend a price reduction in order to help sell your merchandise. No price reductions will be made without your approval.
All sellers have the option to set a reserve price. This is the lowest price you will accept for your item. If you decide to set a reserve price, your listing will show up with the word “negotiable”, and it will also have a “make an offer” button so buyers can send through offers. The system will automatically accept any offer at or above the reserve price. You will be notified via email of any offers below the reserve price.
Yes, we can send a Collécte curator to photograph, measure and list your item for an additional fee. The length of an appointment will vary depending on location and the number of items for consignment. Please contact us to make an appointment.
Before your appointment:
• Furniture must be assembled, accessible, and cleaned. Collécte curators will not assemble or move furniture.
• Remove any personal items from the piece (e.g. empty drawers or cabinets, remove photos, books, etc.).
• Remove dust.
• Clear a path to the piece for easy photography and moving.
• If you have purchase receipts or documentation of provenance, please provide that to the Collecte curator.
Please note we currently have Collécte curators in Melbourne & Sydney only.
