There are so many good reasons to invest in pre-owned pieces (see blog 1!), but perhaps most importantly, they tell a story.
Here are some quality Collécte pieces that have a lot to say…
1. Le Corbusier LC4 Chaise Lounge / Cassina
If you want to relax, this is the chair to do it in. A collaboration by designers Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret and his well-known cousin, Le Corbusier, this piece was initially designed in 1929, then sealed its place in the design world in the sixties with Cassina and has held its value ever since. Designed with simplicity and comfort in mind, the style has proved timeless.
2. Flos Floor Lamp / Arco
There’s something about curves in a space that make an impact, and this iconic arched lamp does just that. The Italian design by Achille and Pier Giacomo Catiglioni was born in 1962 and has been a design favourite ever since. The use of a Carrara marble base brilliantly complements the curve and has made this design a classic.
3. Haller storage unit / USM
This piece is made to last. With powder coated and chrome plated steel tubes constructed manually and a focus on sustainability, you can invest in this quality piece and feel comfortable about supporting the environment in style. This versatile unit would suit any space, which is not surprising coming from the Swiss company that has worked with modular steel design since 1885.
4. Febo chaise longue / Maxalto
Another example of the beauty of form and function, this chaise designed by Antonio Citterio is elegant and understated, with beautiful attention to detail that would lift any room and suit any style. Collécte has two available in a soft grey velvet if you want twice the luxury!
5. PH Snowball pendant light / Louis Poulsen
This 1958 design by Poul Henningsen is another timeless classic. The soft light spills from the tiers, cleverly reflected by the glossy top and matt underside of the aluminium layers. This piece from the fascinating Danish designer is a real feature and would make a bold addition to an entrance hall or dining area.
