Paula took some time to tell us about the best career advice she has ever received, her favourite pieces on Collécte, and more.
Describe your style in 6 words or less.
Paula: Lover. Of. All Things. White.
Which architects/designers/artists most inspire you?
Paula: Architect David Hicks. Everything he does. I return to art of Peter Beard time and time again. For inspiration for just about everything.
There are countless designers – local legends like Kirsten Stanwix, Megan Morton, Sibella Court, Steven Cordony…then I love the extraness of Martyn Lawrence Bullard and both the Kathy’s – Ireland and Marshall - for their chic twist on the classics.
What is your most cherished piece at home? (furniture, art, lighting or decorative)
Paula: It’s my collections. Pieced that you can’t replicate without travel, fossicking and time. I collect vintage flags, elephants and books with blue cloth covers. Nothing better than a floor to ceiling bookcase of blue.
Best piece of career advice you have ever received?
Paula: Fail fast. Everyone does. The secret is in recognising it and moving on quickly.
What are you favourites:
Favourite Instagram account/s you follow?
Paula: Impossible to answer because it changes all the time. However make sure you use Instagram to fill up your cup. Steer clear of accounts that don’t bring you joy. And search in adjectives like pink, jewelled etc and you’ll find some great artists.
Favourite galleries or museums?
Paula: The Frick Collection in New York, The Broad, Los Angeles, The Getty, Los Angeles, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris and Tate Modern, London.

Icebergs Dining Room unbeatable view for lunch, Sean’s Panaroma for dinners in summer when the sun is still high; Fred’s and Bert’s because the rooms are spectacular; Mr Wong’s for energy and dumplings; Café Sydney for Moreton Bay Bugs and the bridge….
Fred's Restaurant in Paddington.
