French Mid Century Coffee Table by Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet

Very rare and highly collectable mid century coffee table by French designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. With a strong Modernist aesthetic, the two designers were at their peak in Forties and Fifties France. They had an avant garde ethos and constantly experimented with new techniques and inexpensive materials. Their signature was putting together bamboo, tiles, hemp rope and tubular metal. The French bamboo table by the design duo is in excellent condition with a beautiful golden patina. Originally manufactured by furniture maker Vibo for Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, the top of the table is decorated with finely cut bamboo laid into a square parquetry pattern. Three striking black and red ceramic tiles are set into the parquetry. One tile is decorated with a crayfish the other two are decorated with a star fish and a piece of coral. Verified authentic and available now in Melbourne.
