Aurora Chair and Ottoman by Jorn Utzon

The Aurora chair and ottoman was designed by Jorn Utzon in 1965 in connection with the completion of the Sydney opera house in 1974. The chair and ottoman consist of molded steel and steam formed plywood, which is wave shaped and upholstered with fabric. This mid century modern combination makes the chair seem as though it is almost floating and weightless. The chair and ottoman is upholstered in Holmens pure wool, with a loose back cushion and the set is in almost showroom condition with no obvious flaws or signs of wear. This chair gets its charismatic name Aurora from the polar light that floats over the sky in Scandinavia. This is known as the northern lights the Aurora Borealis, and in the southern hemisphere as Aurora Australis. The set is in excellent condition, verified authentic and available now in Melbourne.
