Produzione Privata, Private Production, is the experimental laboratory of Michele De Lucchi. It was founded in 1990 as a continuation of the Memphis movement and above all, to design and implement experimental objects, free of commission, with maximum freedom of expression. De Lucchi has designed lamps and furniture for well known Italian and European companies, such as Artemide, Olivetti, Alias, Unifor, Hermès, and Alessi. Elegant tiers and a hint of history define the Produzione Privata Chapeau Table Lamp. Designed in 2014, the silhouette is reminiscent of antique blown glass insulators, and given a scientific flavor with the fuse like blown borosilicate glass tubing and shade. Chapeau, meaning hat in French, is capped with a softly tiered aluminum shade that echoes the more defined tiers of the base.
