Oversized Gilt Framed For the Track Art Print

An oversized fine art reproduction of For the Track, originally painted in 1895 by renowned American artist John Frederick Peto 1854–1907, celebrated for his mastery of trompe-loeil painting, a technique designed to create the illusion of three dimensional objects. The composition depicts an arrangement of 19th century horse racing memorabilia, including a crimson jockey's cap, riding crop, horseshoe, spur and weathered racing advertisements, set against a dark timber background. Rich in detail, the artwork reflects Petos fascination with everyday objects, nostalgia and the passage of time. The original painting is held in the collection of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. A beautifully reproduced fine art print, housed in an ornate gilt frame with decorative moulded detailing that complements the artworks deep, atmospheric colours. Generously proportioned and particularly suited to a library, study, entrance hall or sitting room. Newly framed and in excellent condition and ready to hang.
