Description:
This is a very large joyous painting that has been part of our family space for over 20 years. We purchased it whilst travelling to Alice Springs when we moved back to Australia.
Yam Dreaming by Greeny Purvis Petyarre, 1930 - 2010, portrays design elements associated with the Yam Dreaming. The growth of the seed to maturity, the yam is depicted by the variation of colour in the lines of the painting.
Greeny was a highly regarded tribal leader in Utopia and nephew of Emily Kngwarreye. The colours usually indicate different stages, seasons or time before germinating.
To us this has been the perfect painting to live amongst but now its time for a new owner to enjoy. Verified authentic and available now in Melbourne.
