Le Bambole Italian Leather Sofa by Mario Bellini

Le Bambole two seater leather sofa by Mario Bellini, was designed in 1972 for B&B Italia. The Bambole series today is an icon of 1970s design furniture and won Mario Bellini the Compasso d'Oro award in 1979. An example of Le Bambole is included in MoMAs permanent collection. With the intention to mimic a swollen pillow resting on the floor, this high quality brown leather sofa offers cozy softness, great comfort and playful informality. The sofa has been in the same family since being purchased in the 1970s and has been lovingly restored, replacing some of the leather panels which is hard to tell as the sofa is in very good condition. There is a watermark on the side and back of the sofa which can be seen in the photos but otherwise the sofas leather has a lovely patina. The timeless sofa is verified authentic and available now in Melbourne.
