Description:
Alcove 3-Seat Sofa - Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra, 2006. Designed by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Swiss maker Vitra, the Alcove sofa is one of the defining pieces of early 21st-century furniture design. Its genius lies in what it does structurally - the high, enveloping back and channeled side panels create a sense of enclosure - a room within a room - while the cream wool upholstery and slim chrome tubular frame keep it light and contemporary. The Bouroullecs conceived it as an antidote to the open-plan office and open-plan home alike, offering privacy without walls. The Vitra maker’s label is intact, the upholstery is in excellent condition throughout, and all original cushions are included.
